An independent local pro who takes on that type of job receives your request and gets in touch to quote. Under “What needs fixing?”, add your role (owner, tenant, board or manager), your floor and service elevator, and whether the home is in a heritage district.
What happens next
- We match the job to a pro. Your postal code and the type of work decide who receives it. How the referral works.
- The pro calls or emails you. Expect a question or two: a photo, a size, your floor, a visit to measure.
- The quote arrives in writing. If nobody gets in touch, tell us and we follow up.

Can a pro quote from my photos alone?
Often, for a screen, a crank or one pane. Photograph the whole window or door, then one frame corner up close, where glass meets frame. A sealed unit or new window still needs an exact measurement.
Should I call the management office before I fill this in?
Send it first if you like. Before work starts, check with the management office: in many condos the windows and balcony doors belong to the corporation. See the condo guide.
Can one request cover several suites or units?
Yes. List each unit number with what is wrong there, and add photos. The pro can then plan visits and elevator bookings together. See property managers.
